As Ground Operations Manager in the Netherlands, you are the lead shaping, developing and ensuring the agile management and continuous process improvement driving a safe, efficient, consistent, and compliant delivery of all aspects of airport customer services and ground operational activities at the NL Airports. As part of the senior management team, you are accountable for TUI Airline’s Ground Handling Management activities in The Netherlands, working in collaboration with all Airline Operations and tour operator stakeholders as well as the full spectrum of internal airline stakeholders in various operational roles in platform functions and the AOC. You will ensure all Ground Handling processes and activities are designed, implemented and managed effectively. In this role, you’ll report to the Head Of Ground Operations Station Operations
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Ground Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

Optimizing existing Ground Handling Operations (GHO) activities and further developing the maturity of TUI’s model at the airports in The Netherlands. Together with your team, you will effectively navigate a matrix environment with multiple constraints, nuance, complexities and trade-offs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that valid concerns of these different audiences are addressed, resolved and integrated into the TUI Airline GHO model;

The high-level architecture for the GHO model and optimization process. You will , establish the strategic GHO roadmap and lead execution and delivery of the resource planning and fulfillment of the ecosystem that underpins TUI Airline’s Ground Operations strategy. In addition you will be responsible for designing, executing and monitor SLAs in relation to the TUI Airline’s GHO Strategy;

Coordinating relationships within TUI as Ground Operations SPOC for The Netherlands and between TUI and the external airports partners (such as Third party suppliers, CLC, Airport Authority, and government agency at NL airports;

Develop and Report on key KPIs, product and performance issues on a structural basis in order to support analyses and drive fast and fact-based decision making on your behalf;

Managing general business development projects at TUI Airline to strengthen the overall network performance. Lead Ground Handling/Operations development activities including defining new business development concepts, evaluating specific business cases and supporting in negotiating co-operation agreements;

Providing proactive and strategic guidance and direction throughout TUI’s Ground Handling activities with a view to continuous improvement in process alignment and integration, costs and efficiencies, and overall departmental performance. Influence, lead and coach your team to do the same, creating and fostering a culture of innovation, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, stability and reliability;

Working with the main stakeholders and engage, build and maintain cooperative, trusting and sustainable business relations with the relevant aviation authorities to drive an effective and progressive partnership approach;

Working closely with the other business leads monitor, evaluate and review projects, changes and program plans to secure critical business changes, working with a constant awareness of wider implications and trade-offs, including the need to generate consistency and alignment across TUI Airline;

Directly steer the Ground Operations activity at AMS Airport ensuring it is managed in a safe, efficient, reliable way, meeting all supplier and regulatory requirements, and maximizing efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis;

Recruit and lead a diverse team operating at AMS Airport, ensuring that they are appropriately trained, motivated, resourced and planned.
ABOUT YOU

You have a demonstrable knowledge and experience of Ground operations;

Proven ability to think strategically, commercially and operationally whilst ensuring full regulatory compliance during decision-making processes;

Personal and professional credibility to establish effective internal and external relationships to Director-level, and to coach and influence senior leaders;

Ability to develop effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and evidence of using and creating informal networks and teams to improve buy-in and delivery;

This role requires strong business English and Dutch, both spoken and written, and involves travel.
