TUI fly Netherlands delivers in-house flying capacity to the TUI Netherlands tour operator markets. The AOC organisation is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements. The AOC has oversight for all consolidated operational and support activity in the airline and works collaboratively with partners across the TUI Airline platform functions to meet the requirements of EASA and CAA-NL. The AOC operates aircraft operating market leading flying standards from a highly motivated and culturally engaged workforce of more than 200 pilots. 


As General Manager Flight Operations NL & Nominated Peron Flight Operations you will manage a local team focused on safety, commercial and operational procedures for the fleet (including lease aircraft) operated in the NL AOC.


You will, in close cooperation with TUI Airline Flight Operations and Training services and the local Compliance and Safety departments provide the operational support on all safety, regulatory and compliance matters relating to Flight Operations and Training in the NL AOC.

You will be a visible and active advocate for the TUI Airline strategic vision. You will play an active role as a member of the TUI Airline senior leadership team, participating in strategic initiatives and collaborative projects to continuously improve the performance of the whole TUI Airline set-up. 


You’ll motivate, develop and lead a community of technical leaders and pilots, serving a complex and flexible flying programme. You’ll preserve the motivation across all teams to deliver an exceptional level of customer service and a holiday flight experience. Your leaders will create supportive social management systems, and effective engagement strategies.
In this role, you’ll report to the Accountable Manager AOC NL.

  • Is accountable to and supports the accountable Manager; 
  • Overall responsibility for Flight Operations Department; 
  • Ensuring that flights are operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures and standards;
  • Ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operation of all aircraft operated in the company’s fleet;
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and processes within the flight operations department;
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining operations efficiency measures;
  • Assessment of operational risk areas and their mitigation and management;
  • Monitoring potential adverse trends in company operations and taking appropriate action.
  • In conjunction with the Safety Manger support the Positive Safety Culture reporting system and monitor potential adverse trends in Flight Operations and take appropriate action to ensure a safety and secure operation; 
  • Ensuring sufficient, suitably qualified personnel are available to meet the company’s planned operations; 
  • Managing and supervising outsourced services in the area of flight operations; 
  • Liaison with Competent Authority/ Regulator (ILT); and
  • Conducting additional tasks and projects appointed by the Accountable Manager. 



  • Valid Type Rating (preferably B737, B767 or B787);
  • 5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position;
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices;
  • Management experience and expertise in flight operations, preferably in a comparable organization;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable EU safety regulations and associated requirements and procedures;
  • Profound knowledge of aviation management systems;
  • High sense of responsibility and trustworthiness;
  • Open mindset and target oriented; 
  • Excellent communication skills; and
  • Sound knowledge of the English language.

This role requires strong business English (written & spoken) and will involve regular travel across Europe. May be required to meet specific regulatory requirements related to the role.
