For our Domain Aviation IT we are looking for a committed and motivated System Engineer to start as soon as possible in the area of Airline Platform Services.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Ensuring 24*7 system availability for TUI Airlines’ business-critical systems
  • Ensuring the required service quality across all divisions
  • Planning, provisioning and testing of new releases within the framework of specified system architectures as well as adaptation of systems in coordination with internal customers
  • Support of system-specific tasks in the context of application migrations
  • Analysis of existing systems with regard to performance and degree of utilisation as well as consultation with internal customers on cost optimisation, tuning potential and performance effects
  • Development and implementation of backup and restart concepts
  • Monitoring compliance with data protection and data security requirements
  • Assignment and administration of system access rights
  • Automation of operational processes
  • Ensuring up-to-date documentation of assigned systems and system components

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Studies in computer science, comparable training or comparable knowledge and practical experience
  • Extensive experience as Oracle database administrator as well as experience in setting up and securely operating Oracle databases at the enterprise level in a 7×24 operation environment
  • Good knowledge with Oracle Data Guard and Grid Infrastructure
  • Experience in Shell programming
  • Ideally, initial experience in operating platforms in an AWS environment; curiosity and interest in acquiring TUI-sponsored AWS skills
  • Practical experience in applying IT Service Management Model (ITIL)
  • Ideally willingness to take over on-call duties (7×24)
  • Team player who enjoys working in an international environment
  • Ability to understand complexity and develop problem-solving solutions
  • Independent working style; strong customer and service orientation
  • Very good English and good German language skills, both written and spoken
