As a Check Manager you are the versatile and critical interface between the TUI Group Base Maintenance functions located in H61 (Luton), and the local Base Maintenance activities in H40 (Zaventem). Your duties shall consist of:


In accordance with agreed interface procedures between H61 and H40, you shall be accountable to pro-actively liaise with the TUI Group Base Maintenance functions in H61 during the various phases of the H40 Base Maintenance program (i.e. preparation, execution, and closure), with the objective to deliver aircraft and workshop programs on time and within budget. As such, you shall be the operational point of contact in H40 for the TUI Group Base Maintenance functions in H61.




– Accountable for the day-to-day oversight of the local H40 Base Maintenance and workshop activities, and to ensure aircraft and workshop programs are delivered on time and within budget in accordance with the required quality standards, company processes and procedures, and regulatory requirements.


– Responsible for the day-to-day hangar and workshop resource management in accordance with its requirements, thereby ensuring the effective utilisation of the H40 Base Maintenance facility and available resources to deliver aircraft and workshop programs on time and within budget.


– Responsible to actively participate in the further development of H40 as a reliable, punctual, and cost-effective Base Maintenance facility within the TUI Group. You shall participate in the preparation and execution of continuous improvement projects with the objective to deliver operational and financial benefits to the TUI Group.


– As part of the H40 Base Maintenance management team, you shall lead and drive performance of the Chief Licensed Aircraft Engineers, internal and external stakeholders, and subservient staff to continually meet the business performance targets and culture goals. You shall be responsible for the welfare of all staff, visitors, and contractors within the H40 Base Maintenance facility.





  • EASA B1/B2 licence
  • Management trained   
  • Will ideally be type-rated on B737NG/MAX, 767 and 787
  • Excellent knowledge of EASA Part-145 regulation & SMS requirements
  • Excellent understanding of Human Factors within the aircraft maintenance environment
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and requirements. Preferably IOSH trained.
  • Excellent knowledge of company’s engineering operating systems
  • IT-savvy
