As Commercial Performance & Development Manager you review procurement business cases, manage and develop all economic data within SM&P to such effectiveness and strategy that it maximises relevant industry/market knowledge, cost control/visibility, solid decision making and result-oriented SM&P management. You cooperate with team members to prepare strategic supplier performance review meetings. You implement innovative processes and tools, to continuously improve efficiency of the SM&P team and make sure the department maintains lean working methods. You develop and leverage an excellent network, co-operate with mainly TUI Airline stakeholders. 

 

In this role, you’ll report to the Senior Manager of Business Performance & Development.

ABOUT THE JOB
 

  • Develop and manage a reliable, structured, effective and knowledgeable competence within SM&P for all related economic & financial data and activities/analysis 
  • Act as a business partner towards the finance team and will also contribute your expertise towards SM&P colleagues by providing ongoing review and support to SM&P team members during procurement projects, including financial analysis of proposals 
  • Support and review initial financial analysis for submission to relevant internal stakeholders and perform spend analysis, to continuously detect and materialize saving opportunities as part of a strategic approach and planning 
  • Join SM&P team members on selected visits/meetings with suppliers or stakeholders to safeguard the economic/financial aspects, of any projects 
  • Act as a business partner towards SM&P team and other stakeholders, you will work together with the heads and their teams to prepare these strategic meetings  
  • Together with the relevant SM&P team members you implement the supplier performance review strategy, bringing various procurement areas together if and where applicable 
  • Ensure that tools and data are available to review the actual supplier spend, and analyze available spend information throughout the contract life-cycle  
  • Assist the implementation of the SM&P process/procedures and digital roadmap, with the aim to create an efficient work environment for the wider SM&P team through digitalization 
  • Develop, implement and maintain the SM&P processes and related manuals to improve working methodologies, ensure compliance and to reduce existing bottlenecks 
  • Ensure adherence to SM&P processes and procedures and detect and initiate procurement improvement initiatives (post-project) jointly with internal stakeholders including management of compliance and data quality 
  • Act as a business partner to other TUI Airline functions to define and fine-tune interface processes and ensure the provision of required training on SM&P processes and tools 
  • Develop and leverage internal networks with various teams such as finance, IT, insurance, legal, analytics, sustainability etc and external networks (suppliers, aviation/economic organisations, etc.) 
  • Manage, in absence of the Senior Manager, the SM&P Risk Register through the consolidation of all function risks and coordinate with the different SM&P heads of in order to raise awareness together with the operational business owners.  
  • Remain current on economic business/market/supplier developments through relevant reading, networking, meetings or attending conferences/workshops. At all times, ensure you are acting according to TUI values and relevant procurement policies 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

  • Relevant bachelor degree, or equivalent by experience. Master’s degree or accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable but not essential 
  • Significant relevant process and financial experience
  • Highly proficient in English. Knowledge of other languages desirable but not essential 
  • Experience with procurement is desired 
  • Experience of managing projects, planning delivery and coordinating the inputs from different stakeholders to achieve desired outcome 
  • A commercial and financial mindset, continually evaluating the costs and benefits of a decision 
  • Strong numeric, analytical and problem solving skills with eye for detail 
  • Ability to identify and understand key drivers in any scenario  
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and to think out of the box 
  • Good understanding of contractual legal terms and conditions 
  • Effective communication and reporting skills, able to tailor messaging for different stakeholders  
  • Good negotiation, influencing and persuading skills 
  • An understanding cultural differences, able to manage the complexity and ambiguity resulting from multiple stakeholders of differing sizes and based in different countries 
  • Able to easily develop a strong network of contacts throughout the business and industry, gaining the support and commitment of key players to key projects 
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude, work result-oriented and take initiative
