Matthew Aherne
Senior Trading Manager, Marella Cruises
I joined TUI in 2012 as a Commercial School Leaver working in both Early and Late Trading. Immediately after finishing the scheme, I joined to support the L&D team so that I could support the next group of leavers and pass on all the things I learnt. I supported on this scheme in various roles including leading the communications and L&D teams. In 2019, I joined the placement scheme as the L&D team leader to continue my passion to support early talent, so I have spent my entire career at TUI supporting this. For me the greatest thing about working on the scheme is the pride you feel for new starters when they overcome their fears, achieve their goals and ultimately enjoyed their first year at TUI.
Abi Devaney
GM Supplier Management & Ancillary Revenue, Marella Cruises
“I joined TUI as a Cruise Trading Assistant on the Placement Scheme in 2014. After finishing university, I came back to TUI on the Graduate Programme, where I got the opportunity to work on a whole host of different projects across the business from Brand Management to Flight Operations! After finishing the scheme, I was eager to continue learning how all the different parts of TUI worked together, so I joined the Business Improvement Team then, in early 2019, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to head up TUI River Cruises in the run up to its maiden season. During the pandemic, I moved into my current role heading up Supplier Management and Ancillary Revenue for Marella Cruises. Whilst it’s been a tough couple of years for travel, I’m proud of having started my career as a placement student in Marella Cruises and just five years later having joined the Cruise Board.”

Jack Streeting
UX Designer
I joined TUI in the summer of 2019 and worked as part of the Digital Experience Team at Stockton, covering UX research, design implementation, marketing and brand development. The business offers a host of opportunities for colleagues to share expertise and grow skillsets, by focusing on collaboration between various areas of the business. If I was to explain my job role to someone outside of the business, If you’re thinking of applying for a job at TUI, I would say join us – hard work never goes unnoticed at TUI and ultimately your ability to go the extra smile will help shape your professional career going forward, like it has mine.
Mark Williamson
Senior Web Developer
I joined TUI over five years ago as a Web Developer, this was shortly after I graduated from university. When I first joined, I was part of a small team focusing on the backend/API implementations, and with help from my colleagues and managers I have found myself lucky enough to progress into a senior position where I can help develop and mentor newer members of the team. If you’re thinking of applying all I would say is to go for it as everyone at TUI goes above and beyond and will do everything they can to help support you and ensure you succeed.
