The Chief Licensed Aircraft Engineer reports directly into the Hangar Managers and will be responsible for the project management of maintenance inputs from pre input stage to post-delivery wash up. To include the following:

Release of aircraft to service from Base Maintenance by ensuring that all the work performed within the allocated area of responsibility is in compliance with appropriate technical and regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures, and within the scope of their company approvals.

Define and co-ordinate check plans, assigning work areas and staff resources to Senior Licenced Aircraft Engineers (SLAE) to assist with the delivery of their allocated work areas ensuring timely completion of aircraft maintenance project to target.

Liaise on a day-to-day basis with Senior Licenced Aircraft Engineers (SLAE) and Licenced Aircraft Engineers (LAE) to maintain workflow. Maintain clear daily written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders within H61 Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO).

Participate with Base Maintenance management (for example, Resource Planning Manager, Engineering Services manager, Hangar Manager) in daily activity to maintain an efficient and compliant Part145 MRO. 


Plan, schedule and allocate work to assigned staff to meet customer requirements for on time delivery. Maintaining high quality standards within an assigned budget in conjunction with production planning and Hangar Management.

Daily management of Senior LAE’s for performance and conduct. Support the Hangar Managers with welfare of all allocated staff to project; including performance reviews and disciplinaries as required, acting as a leader in the workplace.

  • Accountable for the release of aircraft to service from base maintenance
  • Responsible for co-ordination of all staff within their designated aircraft maintenance project
  • Management and delivery of the scheduled work plan to deliver the aircraft maintenance in line with company processes and approvals
  • Responsible to monitor performance against plan, provide regular briefings, guidance, and support to allocated staff as necessary to deliver scheduled maintenance plan
  • Work with the Hangar Managers, SLAE’s and LAE’s to identify impending issues and generate solutions
  • Supervision of tasks performed respecting the cleanliness of the Hangar environment and aircraft, whilst acknowledging the customers perception
  • Assist Hangar Managers with quality audits from internal and external auditors including findings containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions    
  • Assist Hangar Manager’s and Base Maintenance Manager with proposed revisions where required to maintain regulatory compliance of company process and approvals




  • Currently hold EASA B1 and/or B2 (preferably hold EASA category ‘C’ licence)
  • Will hold a minimum of three years active certification
  • Ability to hold and maintain appropriate company approvals specific to role  
  • 737NG/MAX & 787 type ratings preferred but not essential
  • Understand EASA part-145 requirements and Human Factors
  • Excellent communicator, flexible and solution focused
  • Excellent knowledge of company’s engineering operating systems
