Thomas's story: Where the sky becomes your office
Finding home in the clouds
When Thomas joined TUI fly Belgium at just 18 years old, he was looking for more than a job - he was searching for a place where he could be himself, grow, and feel at home. Three years later, he's found exactly that, along with a blue family that's made every flight an adventure worth taking.
From welcoming nervous passengers to sharing the skies with his own parents, Thomas has discovered that being Cabin Crew isn't just about reaching destinations - it's about creating moments of happiness, one smile at a time.
A team that feels like home
What makes TUI special? For Thomas, it's the genuine sense of belonging. Every day brings a new crew, yet somehow, it always just works. The team of cabin crew and pilots is close-knit, and newcomers are welcomed as if they've been part of the family all along.
Over the past three years, some of Thomas's colleagues have become his closest friends, strengthening that sense of belonging even more. What he loves most is the freedom to be himself and express his personality - because at TUI, authenticity isn't just encouraged, it's celebrated. Whether it's admiring breathtaking views, experiencing the strength of teamwork, or sharing a laugh with colleagues, there's always something that puts a smile on his face.

Cabin Crew, Belgium
Never underestimate the power of a smile. As Cabin Crew, we have the opportunity to make someone's day, sometimes without even realising it. It goes beyond welcoming passengers on board – it's about creating moments of happiness, one passenger at a time. That's what TUI means to me: discovering your own smile, sharing it with others, and helping our passengers discover theirs along the way.
The power of small moments
Being able to say the sky is your office is wonderful, but for Thomas, the real magic happens in the little moments. A high-five with an excited child. Paper and crayons to keep little ones entertained. A reassuring word for a nervous passenger. These small gestures might seem insignificant, but they can turn an ordinary flight into a memorable experience.
One memory will always hold a special place in Thomas's heart: the day he welcomed his own parents on board. They'd booked a last-minute trip to Italy, and through a stroke of luck, Thomas was called to cover their flight. His mum was so proud that she took plenty of pictures of him working in the cabin - a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the most unforgettable memories are the ones you could never have planned.
