General
What does a Travel Consultant do?
You are our customers' travel hero. You listen, inspire, and create trips that perfectly match their wishes. From sun holidays to city trips - you make dreams come true.
Which skills make the difference?
You have a smile in your voice, commercial flair, and smooth communication in Dutch (and preferably also French in shops in Wallonia or Brussels) - as well as a healthy dose of team spirit. In Belgian TUI shops, you love variety and switch effortlessly between customers and systems.
Are there targets or bonuses linked to the role?
Yes, we work with targets - but realistic and motivating ones. You get opportunities to show your talent and are rewarded for it.
Can I do an internship at TUI as a student?
Yes! We also offer internship positions in Belgium within various departments, including in our shops. You can find all internship vacancies on the career site.
Do I also have to work on weekends?
Working in a TUI shop in Belgium also means flexibility. Weekend work is part of it, but don't worry: we ensure a schedule that works for you and your team.
Can I partly work from home?
Depending on your location in Belgium and the team you join, there are possibilities for hybrid working. We believe in freedom and trust here.
How much time do I spend on administration versus customer contact?
You spend most of your time in a Belgian TUI shop on customer advice. Of course, administrative follow-up is part of it, but we make our systems as user-friendly as possible.
Can I also create group or tailor-made trips?
Depending on the Belgian shop and your experience, you can specialize in unique, customized dream trips - wonderful to express your passion in.
Can I join study trips?
Absolutely! At TUI Belgium, study trips are part of our training. This way you really get to know destinations, and you can advise customers even better.
Training
Do I need a specific education?
In Belgium, a diploma in tourism or a customer-oriented education is a nice bonus. But more importantly: your passion for travel and people.
Will I receive training in TUI booking tools?
Yes! You start with an onboarding program where you learn our systems, such as Amadeus. So you're never on your own.
Are there growth opportunities?
At TUI in Belgium, you can really grow: from travel specialist to Shop Manager or even positions at the headquarters in Zaventem. You are in the driver's seat of your career.
Recruitment Process
How does the application process work?
When you apply at TUI in Belgium, you start online, followed by an assessment. Then usually an interview in the shop follows - we mainly want to discover who you are and what makes you happy.
Can I get help with completing the online assessment?
Of course! If you have technical problems or don't understand something, let us know via the contact point mentioned in the email. We're happy to help you further.
Can I simply apply by email with my CV?
In Belgium, we recommend that you apply via our official job site - that's where everything goes fastest. It's also possible to apply via LinkedIn, Indeed or VDAB.
Do I need to complete the online assessment multiple times if I apply for different shops?
If you apply for multiple TUI shops in Belgium, you usually only need to complete one assessment. It may vary per vacancy, so you're always welcome to ask.
