Join TUI Hotels & Resorts as Hotel General Manager responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall management of the hotel resort property, assets and deliver operational excellence. 

This is a new Hotel General Manager position who will support the refurbishment and opening of a new TUI hotel property in Croatia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Develops and monitors the performance of financial and operational plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel and operating departments.
  • Develops the annual budget and business plan together with the commercial leader and the Regional Director, making executive recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and ensure brand loyalty.
  • Responsible to apply our TUI BLUE Green Building Guidelines and achieve our brand sustainability goal.
  • Oversees the overall in-hotel guest service and operational delivery, ensuring the utmost brand quality is consistently delivered.
  • Ensures that TUI BLUE product quality and service standards are met in all areas including physical asset appearance, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Oversees the development of marketing plans and yield management efforts to maximize revenue generation, RevPAR, and occupancy levels.
  • Tasked to maximise food and beverage revenues by ensuring optimal use of banquet / outlet space and most cost - effective management of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
  • Works closely with central HR and Talent Acquisition team in ensuring optimum staffing levels relative to volume and productivity levels in all areas of the hotel.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with key community contacts to ensure a visible presence locally. 
  • Provides regular and ad hoc information and status reports to the Global Hotel Operations team as requested on the financial and operational performance of the hotel.
  • Oversees the security function to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets.
  • Fosters the development of a positive work environment for all employees. Mentors all levels of employees through formal and informal meetings, discussions, and performance feedback.
  • Works effectively with staff to address TUI BLUE brand DNA and cultural work environment to promote positive employee and guest experiences.
  • Champions the TUI BLUE brand always and providing perspective site tours to guest, developers, owners, and TUI BLUE personnel.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous proven senior executive position (General Manager or Assistant General Manager or equivalent) or extensive knowledge of hotel management and managing change.
  • Large range of executive hotel operations experience, with ideally regional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, adept at managing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Evidence of inspiring confidence, credibility and influencing at a senior corporate executive level
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with hotel/ hotel & resort budget management
  • Excellent all-round knowledge of other key players, our hotel competitors within the leisure travel business.
  • Committed to keeping up to date with industry, market initiatives and leisure customer preference and using effectively.
  • Languages required – Fluent Croatian and English is required for this role. Other European languages would be advantageous.
