General

What does a Travel Advisor do?

You are the travel hero for our customers in the Netherlands. You listen, inspire, and create trips that perfectly match their wishes. From sunny holidays to city trips - you make dreams come true.

Which skills make the difference?

You have a smile in your voice, commercial flair, and smooth communication in Dutch (and preferably also in English, especially in regions with international customers). You love variety and switch effortlessly between customers and systems in our Dutch TUI travel agencies.

Are there targets or bonuses associated with it?

In the Netherlands, you work with clear and realistic targets. They are there to inspire you, not to put pressure on you. And of course, good performance is rewarded.

Can I do an internship at TUI as a student?

In the Netherlands, we also offer internship positions within our stores and at the headquarters. Check the current internship vacancies via our career website.

Do I also have to work on weekends?

Working in a TUI store in the Netherlands also means flexibility. Weekend work is part of it, but we ensure a good work-life balance and a schedule in consultation with the team.

Can I partly work from home?

Depending on your role and location in the Netherlands, there are opportunities for hybrid working. We believe in freedom, trust, and responsibility.

How much time do I spend on administration versus customer contact?

Most of your work at TUI Netherlands consists of advising customers. Of course, administrative follow-up is also part of it, but our systems are designed for that.

Can I also organize group trips or tailor-made travel?

In some Dutch stores, you can specialize in group travel or tailor-made trips, depending on experience and team needs. Perfect if you want to put your creativity into your work.

Can I also join study trips?

Study and inspiration trips are part of our learning program in the Netherlands. This way you really get to know our destinations and can advise our customers even better.

Training

Do I need a specific education?

In the Netherlands, a degree in tourism (such as from a vocational education program) or a customer-oriented training is a nice bonus. But more importantly: your passion for travel and people.

Will I receive training in TUI booking tools?

You start with an onboarding program in the Netherlands where you learn everything about our systems. You'll be guided and never stand alone.

Are there growth opportunities?

At TUI Netherlands, you get plenty of growth opportunities: from travel specialist to team leader, or even to positions at the headquarters in Rijswijk or Enschede. Your journey doesn't stop at one destination.

How does the application process work?

Applying at TUI Netherlands? You do that online. Then follows an online assessment or interview. After that, we invite you for an on-site interview so we can really get to know you.

What are the standard opening hours of TUI travel agencies?

Most TUI stores in the Netherlands are open from Monday to Saturday, often from 09:30 to 17:30. Some branches have different opening hours.

Are all stores closed on Sundays?

On Sundays, most TUI stores in the Netherlands are closed. Some locations in shopping centers may exceptionally be open on shopping Sundays.

Are opening hours the same everywhere?

Opening hours vary by location in the Netherlands. A store in a city center or shopping center may have different hours.
