The role holder will play a key role in the transformation of TUI across its international Markets. TUI is coming from a place where local markets have operated largely independently with disparate IT systems, business processes and KPIs and are moving to more common systems and processes. These will support TUIs growth ambitions whilst ensuring we are lean and efficient. The Transformation Project Manager role is responsible for the planning, coordination and completion of projects across TUIs Markets as part of our Digital Transformation strategy. You will oversee all aspects of each project to set deadlines and drive teams to meet them, ensure responsibilities across matrix managed teams are clear, and monitor and summarise progress of each project to provide all stakeholders with a transparent view of where we are in achieving our target outcomes. TUI works using an Agile approach and you’ll work with business and technology teams to understand how all aspects of a plan come together so we have the people change, process change and technology change aligned to deliver the outcomes. You will report in to one of our Programme Managers within the Markets Transformation team.
We have teams organised by Holiday Product (e.g. Flight Only), by digital service (e.g. Pricing, Sales, Finance) and focused on change within Regions (e.g. Western Region) and you will ensure that there is alignment across these teams for the projects you work on. The Markets Transformation function is responsible for a number of key processes (e.g. Mid-term planning, Programme Increment Planning, Business Design) and you will support the effective running of these processes and will continuously improve these to deliver better quality outcomes. We need a wide degree of creativity and flexibility and are looking for people comfortable with accepting ownership for and accomplishing new and different requests, and in working to turn ambiguity in to clarity.
Please note, applications for this role will close on: Sunday 1st October
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Ensure that the outcomes of your projects are delivered within planned time windows, that scope is clearly defined (what features we need to achieve target outcomes) and that this is done in the most efficient way to keep costs as low as possible.
- Work with the Regional Transformation Teams, Product Owners and Operational stakeholders to ensure that the business inputs in to and is ready to accept the change using our Change Management toolkit (highlighting any issues or risks with this to relevant stakeholders and ensuring action plans are in place and followed up on).
- Work closely with your Technology counterparts (Technical Architects, Delivery Leads, Business Analysts) to ensure that any technical changes are planned in and resources required to support this are in place (flagging any risks and issues when this is the case).
- You will actively manage resource availability and will continuously review if you have what you need to deliver your target outcomes and where you don’t will work with the necessary stakeholders to address this. This includes working with any third parties/vendors.
- Ensure there is effective governance in place for your projects (in line with the overall governance framework) and support the wider Markets Transformation team on the governance processes we lead.
- Perform risk management to minimise potential risks and prevent them turning in to issues, and when we have issues you will actively manage these ensuring clarity of ownership to resolve these.
- Work with the Testing teams to ensure testing time is incorporated in to your plans and that the right level of testing is planned and completed to enable sign off.
- You will create and maintain relevant project documentation (e.g. confluence pages outlining scope and outcomes, plans, risk and issue logs, action logs).
- Support the business sponsor in setting up the project ensuring effective on-boarding of stakeholders, and actively manage business stakeholders across all of our markets to support achieving outcomes.
- Support options analysis – modelling and reviewing different planning scenarios using data and insight to form recommendations for your projects (and supporting the Programme Managers on wider Programme and Portfolio planning).
- Use and continually develop leadership skills to support delivery of your projects outcomes.
- Support the wider Markets Transformation team to deliver the overall Transformation objectives, and to effectively run the processes we are responsible for (e.g. complete preparation for Programme Increment planning, capture Steerco decisions and actions).
