As Hangar 61 Capacity Manager, your focus will be to manage hangar resources, their planning during and outside the checks, as well as their qualifications, training needs and development. You will need to be well versed in project management and resource management and can encourage cooperative working relationships with good communication skills. You will be responsible for the 5-year staffing plan for the Base Maintenance activity and be knowledgeable in the hiring, onboarding and training processes. 

In this role, you’ll report to the Base Maintenance Manager.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Hangar 61 Capacity Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the facility has the manpower capacity to meet the Base Maintenance plan. Focus on balancing employee workload.

  • Ensuring that the hangar resource and overall aircraft input flow have the necessary balance.

  • Provide project management/chief engineering with collaborative support for ongoing and upcoming projects.

  • Adapt plans and re allocate resources to increase efficiency or reforecast due to any unforeseen circumstance.

  • Utilise a data driven approach to create decisions objectively. Interacting with modern project management software to track complex interdependencies in a clear, concise way.

  • Interfacing with other parts of the business to ensure efficient collaboration in both directions depending on the needs of either activity

  • Supporting with the administration of internal resources: leave, attendance, absences and roles

  • Supporting the administration of temporary staff, contractors, trainees and subcontractors; ensuring their smooth integration and performance in line with published procedures, against strict requirements of the workload

  • Manage the skills and optimise the versatility of each engineer to increase productivity and flexibility. Establish a training schedule and matrix to be followed by staff to maintain and develop individual skills within.

  • Leading by example, encourage, support and participate to continuous improvement activities

  • Monitor the staff and put in place succession planning within the workforce in line with projected organisational design headcount, considering demographics

  • Responsible, alongside hangar management, to maintain overview of time and attendance system to ensure all staff clocking, overtime, holidays, sickness and training are corrected daily through H61 administration.

  • Adopt required wellbeing values and support resource as required in this area alongside direct line management

  • Responsible to deliver an effective apprenticeship training program in line with projected organisational Design

  • Hold responsibility for internal Safety and compliance reporting platform and understand the relationship to said platform towards wider resource.  

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience within resource management, ideally within Aviation.  
  • Analytical and people management skills essential.
  • Mindset to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Degree in business management, Economics, HR, Management, Organisational development preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of Aviation check management within a base environment
  • Knowledge of Boeing 737NG/B737 Max and B787. Preferred but not essential.  
  • Understanding of engineering finance.
  • Able to build & grow internal and external customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of EASA part-145/Part M regulations.
  • Excellent facilitator/communicator both verbally and written.
  • Excellent people person who can show empathy when needed.   
  • Computer literate to a high standard including modern resource/project management software tools, word, excel, AMOS and SAP
  • Flexible in working hours to meet the demands of the organisation
  • Safeguarding Qualification as required to support apprenticeship program. 
  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written, and may involve some international travel
