ABOUT THE JOB


Reporting Line: reports directly to the Accountable Manager of the AOC for regulatory compliance and to the Head of Training of TAT for TUI group training matters. As NP Training, you will be responsible for: 

Primary Responsibilities

•    Strategically develop the training department in coordination with the Accountable Manager and Nominated Person Flight Operations.
•    Manage and supervise crew training to maintain the company's Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in compliance with current legislation and regulations.
•    Define and implement flight training policies and programs.
•    Ensure all training programs (initial, recurrent, and checking) for Flight Crew Members (FCMs) and Cabin Crew Members (CCMs) meet or exceed local and international standards as required by authorities.
•    Develop, maintain, and distribute Operations Manual Part D (OM-D), ensuring proper revision cycles.
•    Implement a program of standardization and continuous improvement using various feedback mechanisms.
•    Deliver and maintain the company's Alternative Training and Qualification Programme (ATQP).
•    Develop and approve training programs for all aircraft types, including route and airport qualification training for new destinations.
•    Ensure all crew members are qualified and checked in accordance with Operations Manuals Parts A, B, C, and D.
•    Manage the availability and performance of qualified instructors, examiners, and other training personnel.
•    Oversee training aids, facilities, and contracted courses, ensuring their sufficiency and proper instruction.
•    Maintain oversight of required training forms and records for all crew members.
•    Develop and monitor the annual crew training plan, including objectives and budget.
•    Ensure efficient use of third-party suppliers and training organizations.
•    Organize, control, and coordinate aircrew training delivery and content.
•    Maintain effective communications with all training staff and create a partnership approach with personnel and union representatives.
•    Contribute to airline strategic planning and communication as a member of the airline leadership team.
•    Develop and support risk, safety, and compliance functions within the area of responsibility.
•    Liaise with other departments within the TUI Group, to investigate and implement new initiatives.
•    Build a succession plan within the area of responsibility.
•    Further duties and responsibilities as outlined within the individual AOC MSM (Interoperability BE/NL)


Authority

•    Appoint, train, and discharge key personnel according to the AOC training department OD
•    Appoint, train, and discharge flight crew instructors/examiners, cabin crew instructors, CRM instructors, and practical training assistants.
•    Issue, revise, and withdraw all company qualifications for FCMs and CCMs.
•    Approve decisions containing approval items before implementation.

This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of crew training, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the airline's operations.


ABOUT YOU

•    You support the vision of TUI Airlines and cooperate in the process towards on TUI Airline
•    Meet formal aviation regulatory requirements as a Nominated Person Crew Training (TRI, ATPL, 5 years of experience with an airline and 2 years in training).
•    Should be proficient on one of the types of aircraft flown in the company, if not, will be trained
•    Reflective and open leadership personality
•    Excellent knowledge of training standards and methods
•    Very good knowledge of flight operations and aviation law
•    Strong verbal and written communication skill
•    Proactive with a strategic perspective on continuous improvement requirements
•    Reliability and committent
•    Team player fostering positive relationships
•    Fluent in English
